We are pleased to invite you to try the Proalp Contact S2 barefoot hiking shoes, as they represent premium barefoot footwear for natural walking and comfortable movement in nature.

What are the main features of the Proalp Contact S2 barefoot hiking shoes?

Barefoot hiking shoes provide excellent ground grip, enabled by the coarse tread on the vulcanized rubber sole. Contact S2 allows unrestricted foot movement, which means the foot naturally adapts to the terrain and maintains contact with the ground.

There is enough space for the toes in the front of the shoe, which is essential in barefoot footwear, as it allows natural foot expansion even when walking downhill. With your toes, you can actively participate in walking and improve stability on uneven surfaces.

An additional (optional) adjustable ankle strap ensures foot stability in the shoe. The thin and flat sole enables direct contact with the ground, which reduces the possibility of sprains while increasing terrain awareness. Natural walking in barefoot shoes positively affects balance and movement.

Regular wearing of barefoot shoes strengthens the feet, leg muscles, spine, and entire body, and improves overall posture.

Natural and quality materials

Proalp barefoot footwear is made from local and quality materials that ensure a long lifespan. We use hydrophobic leather, natural sheep’s wool, and vulcanized rubber. The materials are breathable, temperature-adaptive (they don’t overheat in summer, they warm in winter), and completely adapt to the shape of the foot over time.

A vegan version of barefoot shoes is also available, made from microfiber, corn and linen fibers, and vulcanized rubber.

What types of trails are they suitable for?

Barefoot hiking shoes are an excellent choice for less demanding hiking trails. Due to increased foot activity, we recommend gradual adaptation, as barefoot footwear requires more active use of foot muscles.

For more demanding mountain trails, they are suitable primarily for experienced barefoot shoe users who have well-developed foot functionality. Because barefoot shoes are extremely flexible, they do not provide the same protection as classic hiking shoes in very demanding conditions (snow, ice, scree, long treks).

For more demanding treks, we recommend non-barefoot Proalp hiking shoes, which have a torsionally stable sole and a spacious front section. In our stores, we can also help you with precise foot measurements and selection of the appropriate shoe size based on foot width and shape.
