Proalp footwear is developed, designed, and manufactured in our hometown of Tržič in the Gorenjska region. We take immense pride in our ancestors’ centuries-old shoemaking tradition! We possess deep knowledge of the finest materials and craftsmanship for quality footwear, which at Proalp, we’ve combined with expertise in foot health. We create footwear that supports the natural function of feet and protects them when needed.
Proalp’s original footwear line is sport-elegant, offering shoes for everyday wear. Spaciousness, breathability, durability, flexibility, and vibrant colors are their distinguishing features. They are very popular among people who want comfortable and healthy footwear, but with a bit more sole than barefoot shoes provide.
Proalp barefoot footwear allows for maximum contact between the feet and the ground, similar to walking barefoot. We specialize in three areas of barefoot footwear: hiking with barefoot shoes, an endless choice of colors, and custom-made footwear for your feet.
Surrounded by the beautiful mountain world, we at Proalp are mountaineers at heart. We are in the mountains daily and know well the characteristics of quality hiking and mountaineering footwear. Proalp’s classic hiking boots are torsionally stable for demanding terrains, while our barefoot hiking models are popular for easier hiking tours.
You can also order custom-fitted footwear from us. We are specialists in footwear adaptation and have already fitted many customers who cannot find suitable footwear among mass-produced models.
Finally, a few words about sustainable values. In recent decades, much has changed globally. In the past, shoemaking workshops like ours were common, but then global corporations took over, and much developed in an unsustainable direction. Proalp’s story is different, as we have maintained sustainable practices throughout our operation. Our main attributes are first-class materials and very high-quality footwear craftsmanship. Proalp footwear is entirely made from materials produced within 350 km of our workshop. You can wear our footwear for years; we also maintain its durability by offering repairs, corrections, and sole replacements.
We have always dedicated ourselves to customers individually, and nothing has changed with the rise of remote sales. This approach allows us to be a small and flexible company, all of us united by dedication and joy in our work, and respect for the shoemaking tradition of our region.
