Choosing the right size

When wearing sandals, we do not need as much extra space in front of the toes as we do in closed shoes. For this reason, we recommend rounding down when choosing your sandal size.

If you normally wear a half size in Proalp barefoot shoes, or if the size chart suggests a half size, choose the lower whole size. For example, if your size is EU 39.5, we recommend selecting EU 39. If you wear EU 39 in our closed shoes, you should also choose EU 39 in our sandals.

This is because our barefoot shoe sizing already includes the recommended additional 12 mm, which is important in closed footwear to ensure the toes have sufficient room while walking. In sandals, however, the feet are naturally much less restricted, so the same amount of extra space is not required.

Based on our experience from in-store fittings and customer consultations, we do not recommend making larger size adjustments than those described above when selecting sandals (Costa, Terra and Ravenna).

Choosing the right width

When ordering online, you can also use your foot width as a guide.

  • If you have narrow feet, choose the narrow width option.
  • If you have wide feet, choose the wide width option.
  • Choose the plus width if you have very splayed toes.

You also have the option of sending us your instep circumference measurement when placing your order. If necessary, we can adjust the width of the sandal straps to achieve a better fit. In cases where only a minor adjustment is required, this service is provided free of charge.
